Nick,
It was a joy to meet you and hear you speak in chapel today! You're a miracle and an inspiration. Thank you for the gift of your book - autographed and everything! I am planning to go into Art Therapy and hope to work with TBI patients, so when Mr. Golias told me last spring that you were coming for DOSS week I was elated! I've been looking forward to hearing you speak ever since then, and was overjoyed to finally have the opportunity to hear you tell your story. What an AMAZING story! We serve an amazing God!

Nick, in regard to that mans review of your book:
I mean you could look at it in a couple ways.
One, your being attacked , or two , God is buffeting you some more. The lord always uses persecution and the enemy to further our sanctification and regeneration.
If your out there sharing about God, then God may want to you eventually go deeper by sharing our only hope Jesus Christ, in a deeper way.
1 tim 2 5 " There is one GOD, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" .
I ll write you more in depth soon,
In Christ

Philippians 3:13 says ... forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. And this is what you have done! Remember there will always be those whol make attempts to destroy or find fault. Let them have their "fun". Leave the negatives--think positive. Never let the negatives get you down!! You have too much going for you. Your life changed as a result of what happened. That in itself is positive. Keep the spirit. God gave you a second chance--not man--but God.
Let no onw destroy what He has given you!!! Whether attempts are made by words or deeds. Keep up the 'good fight'! God loves you and so so we.

Nick your book was fantastic!! Once I started reading, I could not put it down. Keep the faith, buddy!! You are still young. And there is plenty of time to inspire, as your book has and will continue to do so well into the future. You are an inspiration to me , also even though I am 77 years young-- I am thankful that I had the opportunity to meet you!!

How do you know Laura Hillukka? I saw your entry on the Caringbridge site, so had to check out your website. Now I would like to read the book. Laura is a shirt-tail relative; we have relatives in common.
Faith is the most important thing in our lives.
I would like to hear from you.

Nick, I've been meaning to add a comment on here for quite some time. Your book 23 is very captivating and well-written. I have known your story since I first heard about it back in '98 but after reading your book, I really understand now what you went through in order to become the man you are today. You are truly an inspiration to us all and I am honored to be one of your good friends. You're my "best man" in every sense of the phrase. Take care and we'll be seeing you soon. God bless. Love, Steve

I just read the article about you and your book in the Pioneer Press. I'd very much like to know what "owner" you talked with and the publishing company which published your book. I'm also a writer, but I have a finished manuscript and am seeking a publisher and editor. Hope you can help. thanks.

Nick-
I was sent a link to your website by someone involved with the L6 Foundation which is trying to bring awareness and support to TBI victims and their families. I am a TBI survivor as well (car accident November 15, 2004) Your story is so amazing and so uplifting for people to see. Not many people know anything about TBI and the courage it takes to overcome the difficulties it presents in a person's life. You have not lost any faith throughout your entire experience and just have such a love for life! I think it is weird to be called a miracle but I believe you truly are one and am so excited that you are telling people and for your book! I cannot wait to read it and have slowly been tryng to put one together myself but no idea where to even begin with that. Thanks for all your courage and for the gratifying message you are putting out there for people to see. I would love to someday get the chance to meet you in person and get to compare and share our stories with one another. Nice to be able to talk with someone who has been through all the same things. Thanks again for your message and feel free to e-mail me anytime about anything!

I have been trying to get in contact with Dr. Kozan. I have tried her at a previous address that I had for her but she is no longer there I presume. If you have any future contact with her would you please tell her that Essex is trying to contact her? I saw in your MySpace that you mention her as an inspiration. I have been there before so I can understand that. Thank you.

Your book is amazing! I am about half way through it and can barely put it down! Thank you for sharing your story with me and allowing me to pass it on to others! It is people like you that make me want to continue my work with the foundation and TBI.
